Abby and Norma #506

... would showing you the hole in my sock count as proof?

This happened to me once. Not getting a chair pulled out from under me for it, but I did accidentally make that pun.

TEXT OF COMIC:
Oh, darn it. I think I've got a hole in my sock.
The sad thing is that I wasn't even trying to make a pun.
I'll believe that when I see proof.

Kindly explain the pun to your slow readers. I don't get it...

It's in Abby's first line: "Oh, darn it." The word "darn" has two meanings: 1. a milder variant of the curse "damn," and 2. a type of sewing, usually used in repairing socks.

Come to think of it, due to the font I use, people might have trouble telling that Abby said "darn"... the "r" and "n" do seem to run together and look like an "m."
