1. Harm to Children
There are references to an event in the past that resulted in the deaths of several very young children in an explosion.
There is one instance of direct physical violence between the narrator as a young child and her teacher (the narrator bites him and he retaliates with a slap to her face). There are other instances of bullying and fights between young characters of the same age.
There are multiple instances of young children and teenagers being locked up in small cells and forced to watch videos lecturing them on what they did wrong by the society's standards.
There are instances of derogatory language, and instances of autistic and otherwise neurodivergent children being treated insultingly and patronizingly by others.
The chapters from the viewpoint of the antagonist include discussion of past atrocities he took part in, including the torture and execution of a mother and teenage son convicted of treason.
