6. Characters of color
The narrator travels to a eugenicist regime where there is extreme prejudice against anyone whose skin color, hair color or eye color deviates even slightly from that colony's norm (auburn hair, gray eyes and spray-tan orange skin).
Meanwhile, at home in the narrator's colony, there are continued mentions of the racism and classism of law enforcement under the previous regime.
The two Hispanic characters continue to be a major part of the government. Their conflict also continues, as does the friction over one of them being intimate with a citizen of another colony. This continues to bring up past conflicts involving dangers they faced in childhood.
However, they both survive the story unharmed, and so do all other characters who are described as people of color.
