Seating Areas

Section Break

Inside the exhibit are at least two or three small seating areas.

Section Break

A large room, carpeted, with several potted trees, chairs and tables covered in fuzzy draping. Centerpoint of room is a U-shaped, 5-story miniature apartment building made of shelves. Roof is covered with grass-like carpet and mountain-like planters with small houseplants. Tiny elevators lead between shelves. Tiny cable cars and staircases lead from apartment roof onto the tables, and to a gift-shop shelf full of jewelry, books and crafts.

Section Break

A short stool or chair, and a short coffee table, are located in each one.

The tables have small potted plants and books on them.

Books on the tables can contain stories, pictures and info about the station and its community of inhabitants.

They can be submitted by local artists and writers.

Visitors can read about the Apartment Building while they sit and rest near it.

Explaining the seating areas

(in the context of the immersive experience)

Section Break

2 cropped images from the original large picture of the room with potted trees, chairs and tables covered in fuzzy draping. Part of the miniature apartment building is visible in the background, but the focus is on two small chairs and two small tables. Each is draped in a fuzzy covering, and each tabletop has a mountain-like planter and a small stack of books. On one table, a tiny spiral staircase can be seen leading up from the planter.

Section Break

In the setting of the starbase, the tables are nature parks for residents' recreational use.

Traveling by the cable car lines overhead, the tiny creatures in the apartments go on vacation to these parks to camp and hike.

To add to the appearance of nature parks, I can make furniture covers from green velvet so the chairs and tables resemble grassy hills.

The floor of the whole exhibit can be made of similar-colored green carpeting.

In the center of each table, plants can grow in a planter shaped like a small rocky mountain. A tall pole can be stuck into the center of each planter.

Tiny zip lines or cable cars can lead from the apartments to the tops of the poles.

Tiny ladders or steps can lead down the poles onto the rocky planters.

This can give the tiny apartment residents an adventurous mountain-climbing experience, whenever they want some time away from their homes.

Wanderers from apartments (with camping gear) can be placed on the planters sometimes.

Section Break

Two larger cropped views from the picture of the large room with potted trees, chairs and tables. Focus is still on two small chairs and tables, but these images show how spiral staircases lead up from the tables to connect to a cable car leading to a similar staircase that descends to a planter on top of the gift-shop shelf... which in turn connects to the roof of the apartment buildings by similar cable cars and stairways.

Section Break

(Books on tables are not part of the starbase. In the immersive experience, it can be imagined that they are written for visitors, and get removed when time is unpaused in the evening.)
